#1002. A-Haunting We Will Go

 

And… this is the second worst Looney Tune! Surprisingly, it’s another Daffy and Speedy cartoon with the actually surprising comeback of Witch Hazel. Now, you might say “Why is it so low!” It’s because of reused jokes and animation. I mean, you can reuse some jokes like Bugs Bunny tap dancing, “This mean’s war!” and the Foghorn-Henery dynamic. But this reuses one the best gags in the history of animation, the thing Daffy becomes in Duck Amuck. Also, Daffy has a nephew here.

 The plot is, Daffy Jr. (that’s what i call Daffy’s nephew) says he found a witch (Witch Hazel) but Daffy doesn’t agree, very surprising because Daffy agrees on almost nothing. Back at Witch Hazel’s house, Speedy for some reason appears and asks her for a cup of cheese. Witch Hazel basically poisons Speedy by feeding Speedy “cheese” made of the special cauldron goo. Speedy becomes Witch Hazel, Witch Hazel leaves to go to Hawaii of all places and this is where Daffy and Daffy Jr. come back to the picture. Speedy and Daffy drink tea for two that makes Daffy become the creature from “Duck Amuck”. Hazel comes back and turns Speedy back into a mouse and Daffy believes its just some old little superstition. He also turns into that flower creature from Duck Amuck.

Overall, the plot is very messy judging how messy my explanation of the short is. For those of you who think this is palatable, watch again please.
